My interests include bizarre fantasy creatures, exciting biology, animals (both real and anthropomorphic ones), fashion and surreal stuff.
My favourite hobby is worldbuilding, and my many projects include:
Amazon B.E. (Beyond Earth) - an interstellar future setting where extraterrestrial worlds are cultivated by transgenic humans, animal uplifts and stranger beings.
Gazing Starlight - a dark fantasy of dream-like surrealness where the universe itself is alive and colorful bird-shrews are one of the least weird races.
HN-tSotL 2.0. - a fan reboot of the forgotten 90s cartoon ”Happy Ness - The Secret of the Loch”. It tells the political and pedagogical story of a scottish gentleman and a community of cute, magical water serpents.
During Armageddon - my own spiritual successor of the ”Last Armageddon” and ”After Armageddon” games. On this postapocalyptic Earth, fallen angels and their demon hordes are the dominant species and the surviving humans are forced to transform or face extinction.
Duck Avenger: Earth’s Galactic Era - my own attempt at creating a dark and edgy Paperinik series. It takes place in a futuristic Duckburg threatened both by colonianistic aliens and misused super-science.
Thanks for the fave on :)
Happy holidays, Tektalox!
How is it going? You and your folks had a good time at the zoo?
If you are not too preoccupied with your projects could we talk?
I am waiting for your reply.
Happy holidays to you too.
We had a fun time at the zoo: they had ’scary house’ attactions, a dolphinarium, pumpkin-spiced latte (I think), and a vivarium where lemurs could climb on and cuddle with the visitors.
This december I have some trouble keeping the christmas spirit in my apartment (it doesn’t feel like christmas without company) and wrestled with the ocd. But I have been fully creative and productive with my art.
We can talk.
Thank you.
I am glad to hear you at least had a pleasant time with your family and I hope your current situation will get better.
Should humans just live in artificial rotating habitats instead of terraforming planets or colonizing those that are already Earth-like?
There is also the “Humans are Space Orcs” concept – in which our ordinary planet Earth is seen as a “death world” and normal humanity as a monstrous warrior species, the toughest beings in the entire galaxy, by other intelligent life forms.
What is your opinion on these topics?
Also, you need any help with any of your projects?
I am waiting for your reply.
Thanks!
I’ve been thinking about that occasionaly. O’Neil cylinders are probably the cheapest option compared to terraforming a planet that might fit our criteria for potential habitability. I decided in my Amazon B.E.-setting that even after colonizing the nearest stars, Terrankind still aren’t godlike enough to change planets within a short span of time. But planetary vivariums aren’t unheard of.
As for cylinder habitats I do wonder a few things about them; like how much physical difference there is between real gravity and centrifugal pull, or how ships are supposed to dock with something that spins.
If our form of life is relatively common in the universe, then I don’t think we’re any more special than others worlds and species whose niche could be compared to ours.
Well, I’m debating with myself on what kind of effort I want to put into Amazon B.E.’s cosmology. I don’t think I have the scientific skills to be a Stephen Baxter (of Xeelee Sequence fame) , Greg Egan (Diaspora) or Rudy Rucker (White Light). If there’s any philosophical author I could compare my universe-building to, it might either be Jennifer Diane Reitz (Unicorn Jelly) or Thomas Happ (Axiom Verge). Right now, my sci-fi verse feels more like the Marvel Cinematic Universe than anything coherent. Maybe I should be like Hc Svnt Dracones and base my sci-fi metaphysics on Reddit or something.
And can you help me break the tie on my ”More Cute Mythos Horrors” post?
Hello, Tektalox.
I hope you had a good Halloween.
Also, how is your apartment situation? I hope everything is alright.
If you have the time, could we talk?
I am waiting for your reply.
